Spark Speaker

I think when AC/DC wrote all of their songs this is how they intended them to be played, with high voltage sparks. A normal speaker works by moving a cone back and forth to push the air at the right frequency to hear the tone you want. A spark speaker works by turning on and off a high voltage spark at the same frequency as the tone you want to produce, moving the air in mini thunder claps.

Mark Barlow will be in the shop Friday, September 9th to show his work with making spark speakers. He will demo one of his units and talk about how it’s built using fairly easy to find parts.

This event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 7pm and the house will start rocking shortly after.
