Invention of the Telephone

This Friday April 20th, HackPittsburgh will be hosting a free & open-to-the-public talk by member Luc B. on the technology and history that went into the first telephones.

We’ll play with the different kinds of transmitters & receivers used in early phones, learn how they work, how to build them, and who got sued over their patents.

We’ll also reenact the first call – so if you have top hat or tails, by all means wear them! We’re having a steampunk theme for the night 🙂

Free & open to the public.
Doors open at 7pm, event starts shortly thereafter.
We’re at 1936 Fifth Avenue, in the garage around back (on Watson).
Look for our flag over the door.
