Hacky Halloween Recap!
This past Wednesday, October 28th, we had our first ever fundraiser-event-slash-party at Brillobox, Hacky Halloween! It was flippin’ awesome!
Andy and the Shockers provided kickass live entertainment! They got everyone dancing, shouting, singin’ along, and making rude hand gestures, and we thank them for it. Thanks also to HackPittsburgh member Gwen for keeping the music going the rest of the night, with some mad iTunes skills!
Congratulations to members Jon and Susan for their judges’-prize-winning costume of Hackerboy and Robot Girl, and to member Andy for his audience-prize-winning Hipster Robot! Congrats are also in order for the runner-up Dr. Emmett Brown(s), who traveled from many time lines to join us at Hacky Halloween, and to the other costume contest finalists! Everyone’s costumes were fantastic!
Thanks to the Brillobox for kindly providing us with a free space to hold the party! Everyone should go to Brillobox and enjoy some delicious food and drink. Also, many thanks to our awesome bartender Olivia for keeping everyone’s mouths from drying out.
Thanks to all the members who made the Party Basket, Wine Basket, Craft Basket, and Hacker Basket raffle prizes possible, and to Folding Space Yoga for donating free yoga lessons! Thanks also to the members who made the candy guessing prize happen, and to member Amy for patiently counting up all of that candy!
Thanks to everyone who put in time, money, and donations to decorate, work the doors, sell the tickets, and make this thing happen. Most of all, thanks so much to members Amy and Mandy for putting so much hard work into making this event possible in the first place!
