Fri – Intro to TSD Road Rallying

Coming into a checkpoint

Join Jenny and Doug for an Intro to TSD Road Rallying at 7pm on Friday.

Unlike the “racing” counterparts that you may see in Subaru commercials, TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) road rallies are more like treasure hunts done in any regular car with some math involved.

Teams (driver/navigator) are given a set of instructions to follow, and an assigned speed to travel. Instructions can be straight-forward, or cryptic, but are to be done at an assigned average speed that is at or below the posted speed limit. This may sound boring, until you realize that you have to read signs and make decisions on where to turn while keeping to that average speed, so suddenly 25 mph becomes quite fast!

Put your new knowledge to immediate use on Sunday Oct 24th when Jenny is hosting a “Leaf Peepers” rally; a novice friendly event using tulip instructions.

I never see these postings until its too late! I don’t know how far in advance you guys plan these events.. but if you can put more advance notice up, more people might show up.

    Just my 2 cents! 🙂

We usually post the upcoming event blog entry about a week in advance. Unfortunately we had a problem with our webhosting on Monday and I couldn’t post this until Wednesday and that did probably hurt attendance.
