Artemis – Spaceship Simulation
Have you ever wanted to be part of a spaceship crew? Here’s your chance! This Friday at HackPittsburgh, we will be playing Artemis, the Spaceship Bridge Simulator. From the website (http://www.artemis.eochu.com/):
Artemis is a multiplayer, multi-computer networked game for Windows computers.
Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. One computer runs the simulation and the “main screen”, while the others serve as workstations for the normal jobs a bridge officer might do, like Helm, Communication, Engineering, and Weapon Control.
Artemis is a social game where several players are together in one room (“bridge”) , and while they all work together, one player plays the Captain, a person who sits in the middle, doesn’t have a workstation, and tells everyone what to do.
If you have a laptop that you can use to run the game, please bring it (however it is not required!). The best way to tell if you can run the game is to download the demo from the website and run it. If it works, great! If not, then don’t worry, we will try to have extra workstations available. We can only run 6 people at a time, but we will try to make sure that everyone gets a chance to play (depending on how long each game lasts).
