Garment Design: from Pattern to Finish
Ever considered how everyone on your favorite post-apocalyptic / space western shows look so good, considering they all spend their lives in a society with not one Banana Republic? Well, we all know that clothes make the freedom fighter. Come on down to the shop on October 19th at 7:00 pm and get a non-computerized walk-through of the process, from concept to creating a pattern to cutting and stitching your final piece.
The talk will be given by Lisa Marie Bruno of Mustard Seed Productions. Lisa Marie is a professional 20 year veteran of clothing and costuming on stage and screen, including jobs at the Hollywood level. Her skill and time in her craft is matched only by her honed shrewdness in show business.
Whether you are costumer, cosplayer, punk of any kind, or just dabbling with a needle and thread with dreams of taking back society, this will be a remarkable primer to working on your concept from soup to nuts.
Friday, October 19th – Free & open to the public.
Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7:30.
We’re at 1936 Fifth Avenue, in the garage around back (on Watson at Jumonville).
Look for our flag over the door.
