Animated 3D filmmaking: a crash course

Join us this Friday night (8/24) for a talk that will be a fast-paced, highly condensed film school, but with a low-budget DIY bent. Creating in 3D has never been less expensive or more fun!

Ever think it might be cool to make your own short film? How about an animated film? How about an animated film in stereoscopic 3D? Musician/filmmaker Jeff Boller will be presenting a crash course in animated 3D filmmaking so that you can unleash your inner James Cameron.

Note: We will be screening some 3D material with shutter glasses. We only have access to ten pairs of shutter glasses so we’ll have to switch around during the event.

Jeff Boller of The Simple Carnival (www.simplecarnival.com) is currently creating a 40-minute animated music video movie called Smitten 3D. He will be breaking down the process that went into one segment of the movie, from storyboards to finished product, and demonstrating how you can use low-cost tools to do this as well.

This Friday, Aug 24th – Free & open to the public.
Doors open at 7pm, event starts shortly thereafter.
We’re at 1936 Fifth Avenue, in the garage around back (on Watson).

Look for our flag over the door.
