Making intelligent wireless sensors from dumb solar garden lights

Smart Solar Garden Light!
Are you dreaming of going solar and living off-grid? Get started on solar power by learning how to hack/use cheap garden variety solar lights for powering electronics and wireless sensors.

The demonstration uses the low power low cost Texas Instruments MSP430 Launchpad and low cost 915Mhz wireless modules but can be adapted for other low power electronics or micro-controllers including the Arduino.

Free and open to the public.
Doors open at 7pm and the event will start shortly afterwards.
We’re at 1936 Fifth Avenue, in the garage around the back on Watson St.
Look for our flag over the door.

Update: Sayan’s slides, which are under active development and revision, so they may be even more useful/up-to-date than what you saw at his talk.

This was a fun one, dude who led the lecture kept it moving and knew what he was doing. Look forward to deploying these MCs for more useful things.
