EL Wire Workshop

After the great success and feedback from our talk on using electroluminescent wire — aka EL wire — for costumes and projects, we are following up with a class on Using EL Wire for Costuming and Decoration. In this class you will receive ten feet of EL wire in two colors, an EL wire controller, batteries, and all the parts needed to solder it together and make it work.  By the end of the class you will have all the skills necessary to connect EL wire, 10′ of EL wire to experiment, plus a controller and printed documentation on how to design larger EL wire projects.

This is a discounted class thanks to the great turnout at our presentation, future EL wire classes will be priced slightly higher.

Class Requirements:

  • Students will need to come in with prior knowledge on how to solder.
  • If you require reading glasses you will need them for this class — we will be soldering wires the width of a human hair.

When: Sunday May 15th 1-5pm
