Yurt Building

HackPittsburgh member Logan was often finding himself at weekend-long festivals, like Pennsic War and Frostburn, without a great place to sleep. The simple answer would be: go buy a tent. The fun answer was: go build a yurt!

What’s a Yurt you ask? The simple answer: a big tent without any support beams in the way.  The long answer: well, that’s what Wikipedia is for (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yurt).

Logan spent a couple months researching, building, and refining his design. Now he has a great project to take with him and keep him warm and dry.  Logan will be at HackPittsburgh this Friday showing off his yurt and explaining the fundamentals of the design to save you the effort he went through if you ever wish to build one. This is a free event and open to the public. Doors will open at 7pm and the yurt will be open shortly after!
