Launch Time
UPDATE!!!!
Do to weather we were forced to cancel the balloon launch. We are planning to reschedule soon and will update when we know.
This Sunday (10-31-2010), HackPittsburgh will be launching its third weather balloon into near space. This time, we invite anyone and everyone who would like to come watch or help out to join us!
We will be meeting at the shop (1936 5th Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219) at 8am Sunday morning to make the final preparations and plans before driving out to a yet undecided location in central Ohio. This will be a “most of the day” event so come prepared. You might want to consider snacks, water, and layered clothing, as well as comfortable shoes and clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty (the balloon hunt can be interesting at times).
If you can’t make it out the launch and would like to follow along at home, you will be able to track the balloon via APRS here: aprs.fi. You will also be able to follow us on Twitter by following the #HackPGH hash tag during Sunday’s event. If you have any questions please feel free to email info@hackpittsburgh.org.

We would like to thank ComponentOne for sponsoring this launch. They are planning on using their incredible suite of tools to visualize the data we collect from this adventure. If you are a developer looking to take the look and feel of your applications to the next level, check them out and see how they can help.
