TCP Hack Foo: NetCat and Nmap Too
TCP Hack Foo: NetCat and Nmap Too
TCP and IP too
Require a significant amount of foo
But if you listen to our chat,
You too will have mastered that.
We will talk of ports, probes and network mapping.
We’ll do our best to keep you from napping.
NMAP techniques for the sages,
we’ll teach you things not in the man pages.
You’ll learn of netcat, a binary of 26k.
That we’ll use to sneak out your firewall in a more than one way.
This tiny bit of code is not too terse,
For us to send out your data in reserve.
So come this Friday to the shop,
We’ll do our best not to flop.
We promise to end these silly rhymes…
That’s a lie — we’ll probably do it a few more times.
We will be giving a very brief introduction to both NetCat and Nmap.
We also plan to discuss and demo some of the more esoteric features of
nmap and spend some time looking into the more unique and useful
features and uses of NetCat.
This is a free Friday night event and is open to the public so bring your friends and come learn how a few simple tools can help you make your network more secure. After all if NMap is good enough to break into the Matrix don’t you want it in your list of tools. Doors will open at 7 and the event will start shortly after. HackPittsburgh is located at 1936 5th Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 in the garage with the yellow door around back on Watson Street.
