Project Critique Night this Wednesday
Got a project idea that you’ve been thinking of for a while, but need some extra help to get it going? Curious to see what others are working on, and maybe have some tips to offer them? Just want to hang out and get inspired to work on your next big thing?
If so, you should definitely come to the inaugural Project Critique Night, this Wednesday, November 11th, starting at 6:30 pm. The idea is to provide a slightly more formal forum for the solicitation of conceptual and technical feedback on personal projects. In other words, I know we have been asking for advice from each other in an ad-hoc manner, and think that the group as a whole can benefit from a specific block of time set away for just this purpose. Rather than looking for long-term collaborators like on pitch night, the purpose here is to receive a one-night critical review of a project, in order to better define the goal or evaluate the proposed technical methodology.
For the pilot meeting, each presenter will be given 5 minutes to explain their project, and 10 minutes of discussion by the group. We have two presenters lined up but are looking for at least one more, so if you have some half-baked plans that need shoring up, or a stalled project that needs some extra sets of eyes to help make it shine, then chime in on the message board and come on down! You don’t need to prepare an elaborate presentation, but plan to be able to explain what you are thinking, whether it be by prose, prototype, or pantomime. See you there!
